Releasing his debut album 'Let It Blow' took Alvin around the world, with the album reaching number 4 on the American R&R (New Adult Contemporary) National Airplay chart, winning him the first round of the critical acclaim that has become a hallmark of his career on both sides of the Atlantic. In fact, such was the Stateside success of 'Let it Blow' that Alvin was even a topic of conversation on the top rated US TV programme The Arsenio Hall Show. It even attracted attention from Bill Clinton, then president of the United States. Bill loved the album so much that he sent a letter from the White House expressing his appreciation of Alvin's talent, and was also given a mention, on British TV, as,’ someone from the UK he’s been listening to,’ by none other than his Purple highness… Prince. This included comparisons with Gerald Albright, Kim Waters, David Sanborn and Kenny G.
ULTIMATE 40 are indeed honoured to have someone as talented (and laid back) as Alvin.
